San Diego Warmly Welcomes Home Winter Solstice

| Entertainment, From Ocean Park Inn

In some parts of the country, the Winter Solstice, which marks the shortest day of the year, also marks the beginning of a long and cold winter. However, in San Diego, the Winter Solstice is nothing but another sunny Southern Californian day! With school and work breaking for the holidays, come celebrate the Winter Soltice away from your town’s freezing weather at the Pacific Beach’s premier beachfront hotel, the Ocean Park Inn. Snowmans Family At Sea Beach In Santa Hat. New Years And Christm

From experience, we can tell you there is nothing better than a vacation spent with your toes in the sand and a drink in your hand. The Ocean Park Inn is located in the heart of San Diego’s Pacific Beach, where you can enjoy local eats and nightlife, as well as a sunset stroll down the boardwalk.

Here are some of our favorite things to do in San Diego during the winter:

1. Arrival of Surfin’ Santa:
Santa will ditch his red suit, dress up in his surfing attire and arrive at Seaport Village to celebrate the holiday season in true Southern California style. Families near and far venture to Seaport Village to enjoy a unique visit with the board shorts-clad Santa, and to explore more than 50 local shops all decked out for the holidays.

2. Ice Skating at Horton Plaza:
Gather up family and friends alike and head downtown to San Diego’s premier shopping district, where you can enjoy hot chocolate and get the feel of the holiday season. The ice skating rink will be set up alongside Horton Plaza’s beautiful Christmas tree, making it a great place to spend time with your loved ones.

3. Get out and explore the beauty of San Diego:
You can explore the wonders of San Diego by going on hikes throughout the city or renting bicycles to ride down the seaside boardwalk. If you can tear yourself away from your relaxing oceanfront room at the Ocean Park Inn, you may also want to consider renting paddleboards or kayaking in nearby Mission Bay. Enjoy the many wonders of San Diego as you unleash your adventurous side this winter!

Whether you are escaping the freezing temps or just visiting family in San Diego, Ocean Park Inn is the place to stay. You can watch the sunset from your balcony or visit the many different restaurants, bars and shops surrounding the hotel. Although it is the beginning of winter you will feel like summer has just arrived! San Diego is your summer getaway from winter, so book yourself some sunshine today!
