If you’re looking to escape the snow this holiday season, come visit us in Sunny San Diego! It may be warm, but we have plenty of holiday spirit and Sunny Santa Suits to go around. Read on for some fun ways to celebrate the holidays with us here in Pacific Beach!
Christmas on Crystal Pier
When: December 1st, 2pm-5pm
Where: Crystal Pier, Pacific Beach
Take your photo with Santa while supporting local PB schools. Photos are only $5 with a donation of school supplies or $10 without donation. (Click here for a list of needed supplies.)
Don’t miss the tree lighting at sunset!
Local’s Tip: Get there before 3:45 if you want to get a picture with Santa! The last photo will be taken at 5pm.
When: December 8th, 6pm
Don’t miss this epic parade of lights on Mission Bay! Our friends at Mission Bay Yacht Club decorate their boats with beautiful light displays then sail around the bay in an epic floating parade.
Local’s Tip: The best viewing points are Crown Point, the east side of Vacation Island, and the west side of Fiesta Island.
When: December 15th, 8:30am-1pm
Where: Pacific Beach (Cass & Garnet)
This holly, jolly fun run is great for the whole family (yes, even the furry family members)! With five different races to choose from, it’s easy for everyone to participate. The run starts with a 5k and then moves into a Speedy Santa 1 mile (men’s division then women’s division). Next, Santa’s Elves (kids) can run the mile course themselves or with a parent. Finally, Santa’s Little Helpers (dogs) get to join in the fun with their owners! The best part is that each participant receives a Santa hat, sunglasses and a complimentary drink ticket (21+). Those who run the 5k will receive a complementary Sunny Santa Suit to wear for the race in addition to the accessories and drink ticket.
Local’s Tip: Don’t miss the after party at Mavericks Beach Club
When: Following the Santa Run (1pm-3pm)
Where: Pacific Beach (Cass & Garnet)
Pacific Beach is home to one of San Diego’s longest-standing holiday parades. Join in this free and family-friendly holiday tradition for some fun and good times!
Local’s Tip: This is a free event but donations are gladly accepted to help the parade run for many more years to come.
When: November 15th-December 31st
Where: The Ocean Park Inn
The Ocean Park Inn is delighted to announce that we will be a local Toy Drop Site this holiday season. We are committed to this cause and happy to offer our guest a $25 Hotel Credit to patrons who donate a toy at our drop site* (subject to restrictions below).
Toys for Tots is a program run by the Marine Corps Reserve to help bring the spirit of the holidays to less fortunate children in local communities. Their goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through the gift of a new toy, a message of hope that will help them in becoming responsible, productive and patriotic citizens.
Click on the image above to view our Gift Guide for each age group. The age group that typically receives the fewest number of donations each year are Boys/Girls ages 9-12.
Toys for Tots warmly requests new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0-12. We will not accept/distribute toys that look like realistic looking weapons or toys/gifts including food.
*Hotel Credit: To qualify for the $25 hotel credit, donations must comply with the Toys for Tots guidelines as detailed above. Additionally, donations should range in value from $15-$25+. Credit applied at management discretion.
