Calling all beer lovers! The San Diego Festival of Beer is returning to the streets of downtown San Diego to offer a wide selection of brews and to raise funds for local cancer fighting organizations. This annual festival will take over Columbia and B Street this Friday, September 20th for an evening that will quench the palate of over 3,000 attending beer lovers.
San Diego is home to some of the most highly acclaimed craft breweries in the nation, so it’s fitting that it should play host to multiple beer tastings, gardens and festival events throughout the year. The San Diego Festival of Beer was the first festival of its kind, and is now approaching its 19th year on the scene. Guests will have the opportunity to sample over sixty different beers, many of which hail from local San Diego breweries. Participating in the event are local heroes Green Flash Brewing Company, Karl Strauss Brewing Company and Stone Brewery. The fun doesn’t stop with beer tastings, however, as guests will also have the opportunity to purchase food and wine by the glass as well as enjoy live music.
The festival benefits San Diego Professionals Against Cancer (SDPAC), a local non-profit that raises money for cancer research and patient treatment. To date, the event has donated over half-a million dollars to local organizations. The annual event is completely volunteer driven and is made possible by the countless people who donate their time and energy in support of the cause. The team comprised of local San Diego professionals has worked diligently to put on the San Diego Festival of Beer for the last 19 years, and this year’s event promises to be better than ever.
