We are turning our blog into a kids’ zone! There is so much for your little ones to see and do in San Diego. Check out this list of activities we put together, and you’ll see that we’re not kidding around.
With numerous amusement rides and marvelous shows, SeaWorld is one of California’s most popular places for the whole family. You can watch dolphins, sea lions, and orcas perform flips and tricks! Your little ones will be mesmerized by how close they can get to these ocean creatures. You can plan your entire day around the scheduled programs by visiting the SeaWorld events calendar.
Get wet and wild this summer with marine life shows, thrill rides, and aquariums that will give your kids the time of their lives. For those who love the fast lane, Taumata Racer is an attraction you won’t want to miss. Zoom down a 375-foot slide, around a 180-degree swooping turn, and in and out of tunnels before crossing the finish line. Experience one of the largest wave pools in SoCal with Aquatica’s Big Surf Shores. And don’t forget to experience up-close encounters with the flamingos and freshwater turtles.
The San Diego Zoo is a 100 acre park and the home to over 3,000 animals, which makes it the largest zoo in the world. With more than 600 different species and subspecies, the whole family will get a thrill out of exploring the different habitats set up around the park. You also don’t want to miss the two current shows the park is offering, Wild About Animals and Dr. Zoolittle, and Friends Explore Australia.
Pachis Art Studio welcomes kids to explore their creative side! The studio has weekly art classes that work with various mediums, such as painting, drawing, and clay. They offer seasonal camps and boutique-styled birthday parties, as well. Your children will learn new drawing techniques, and you can take home and hang their masterpiece!

The New Children’s Museum is filled with age-specific exhibits that are both immersive and interactive. Each installation is the result of joint efforts between an artist and child development specialists. All exhibits are a delicate mix between a playground and the visual displays you are more commonly used to at museums, making it enticing and educational for your kids.
An all aged installation is the sandbox gallery, an 11’x14’ sandbox complete with lights and music creating a multi-sensory experience.

Put on your chef’s hat! The Curious Fork hosts cooking classes for kids up to twice a month. Kids between the ages of 7 and 13 are given the chance to experience the creativity of cooking while learning basic culinary skills. They work in teams to create personalized dishes and sauces. It’s never too early to learn to make something from scratch, as well as acquire team building skills.

Look no further for a party venue! Ultrazone has a laser tag arena that allows up to 36 people to play at one time. Players are divided into teams and are given free rein of the maze-like arena filled with bases to capture and hidden power-ups. Although players must be at least seven years old, there is no age limit. You and your friends and family will have a blast!

A roller-skating rink that consists of disco lights, DJs, and a snack bar, who wouldn’t want to roll with it? The rink is open to all ages, so families can enjoy the scheduled free-skate that is open to the public or certain events, such as roller derby or dance instructions.

Spend your summer nights at the Roar and Snore Safari. The adventure will include up-close encounters of animals, a ride on the Africa Tram, and an overnight stay in a canvas tent in the middle of the park. You and your family will be able to observe the animals in their natural habitat.
