San Diegans know how to celebrate America the beautiful. Here are some star–spangled spectacular ventures for you and your family to enjoy this Fourth of July.
Pick a spot along the waterfront to see the most remarkable display of fireworks in the city! This magnificent show will be orchestrated to originally produced musical selections.
Pack some food, take your lounge chairs, and head over to the following places:
- Shelter Island
- Harbor Island
- North Embarcadero and the Marina District
- Seaport Village/South Embarcadero
- Coronado Ferry Landing
Kids, come on down! What better way to spend the night than watching LEGOLAND’s firework display timed with patriotic music? During the day, the park will be offering live music performances. Visitors can participate in games that the whole family can enjoy, such as water balloon toss, burlap sack races, LEGO Hamburger relay and a family build challenge.
This scenic resort city takes 4th of July very seriously putting on a road race, an art in the park show, rough water swim competition, Independence Day Parade, live entertainment, fireworks over Glorietta Bay, and so much more!
Here’s a tip: Take the ferry to Coronado, so you don’t have to worry about parking.
San Diego Symphony’s Star-Spangled Pops
Ready for an all-American program at Embarcadero Marina Park? San Diego Symphony holds a traditional tribute to the music of America, showcasing Broadway tunes, hits from the big screen, and patriotic favorites. Rising conductor, Damon Gupton, has appeared in television as an actor, as well (Criminal Minds as a series regular, Bates Motel), film (La La Land, Whiplash) and Broadway (Clybourne Park). The production will also include a military salute and a grand fireworks display.
Old Town is recreating a traditional 1800s-style Independence Day with a classic parade, crafts, and kid-friendly activities, such as wagon rides, period games, music, a pie-eating contest, and much more! Here’s a bonus, you will be able to view the Big Bay Boom Fireworks Show.
Fourth of July Fireworks at La Jolla Cove
Pack a picnic and bring a blanket to beautiful La Jolla for a celebration you won’t forget. Ellen Browning Scripps Park is a perfect location to view the 4th of July Fireworks at La Jolla Cove. Before the spectacle begins, spend the day kayaking and snorkeling your way around the coastal caves. You may even spot some sea lions!
Insider tip: Arrive at the park early to watch the sunset and find a spot for the fireworks show.
San Diego County Fair 4th of July Celebration
