This year, spend Christmas in San Diego where the sun is shinning and the people are always smiling! Skip out on the white Christmas this year, and enjoy all of the traditional holiday festivities in the sun. Book your stay at Ocean Park Inn where you can hang up your snow jackets in favor of bathing suits, and build sand castles instead of snowmen.
To help you plan the perfect celebration, we have compiled the following list of our favorite things to do in San Diego this winter:
View the Christmas Lights:
Many neighborhoods around San Diego gather together to deck their halls with street after street of holiday lights and decorations, perfect for a moonlit stroll or family drive. Ice Skate Outdoors:
Enjoy an outdoor ice skating experience in the heart of downtown San Diego! Bring the family downtown to Horton Plaza where you can skate under the moonlight and enjoy the featured Christmas tree and abundant holiday spirit. The ice skating rink will remain open until January 4th and you can buy your tickets for $12 for children (under 12) and $14 for adults. All proceeds will benefit Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego.
Holiday Amusement at San Diego’s Parks:
You can also visit the local parks to ring in the holiday season. Visit the San Diego Zoo for their Jungle Bells parade where you can enjoy activities, animal experiences and entertainment all backed by a different holiday theme for each day of the month. Or consider taking the family to SeaWorld for their Christmas celebration, visits with Santa, and of course famous Orca.
